I need to loosen my headliner to fish a wire for a rear camera for my dash cam set up and I could not find any advice on how to remove the hooks.

I searched multiple forums for details on how to remove these and did not find anything of value. Today I just jumped in and took a closer look and found it's incredibly easy.

They have a small opening at the top of a little trap door on the back. I stuck a flat jewelers screwdriver in there, gently levered it, and it popped right open to reveal a little screw.

Removed the screw, hook came right out. Pics for reference. Hope someone finds it useful.

Thank you. This will be helpful info to have. I plan on installing a dash cam and rear cam in the near future. Where are you grabbing the power from? I’m planning on tapping into the rear view mirror power.

I bought a hard wire power kit that runs to the battery.
