My new 2022 PW has this button mounted where your left shin is located when driving. I can't find anything about it in the manual, and it looks to be an after thought. I'm guessing Dealer installed. I traced its wiring to the engine compartment, to something under the fuse box. I can't see under it to know what for sure. Anyone know what this is for?

dealer installed alarm/tracker system.

I made sure they didn't install any of their junk in my truck when it was delivered.

truck comes with a OEM tracker system. Works great. I could see my truck sitting in the LAX parking garage while I was in Maui waiting to get on the plane home. So no need for any dealer installed system they over charge you for.

I'd go back and make them take it out and replace the panel that they put those ugly screw into.

Thats what I suspected, thanks for the confirmation. BTW I didnt get charged anything for this.. Definately will make them remove it at the next visit..

I had a GPS tracker installed by the dealership that I specifically told them I didn't want. It's easy to pull out yourself.
The button you are showing doesn't look like a tracker to me. It looks like it could be for some lights or something else.
I attached pictures of what the dealer installed tracker looked like on my truck.

Nope, not for lights. That is an aftermarket set up of some sort. Defantly not factory.

Either for a tracker, or a alarm.

Dealers do it all the time, then try and get you to buy it because its already installed. AND it's way over priced. Then when you tell them NO. Most times they will not remove it, just put a jumper plug in, like the little blue pill, so that it is bypassed. And if you just rip it out, sometimes the vehicle will not run. Shady dealerships if you ask me.

Your's looks like it plugged into the OBD port. Wonder what else it was sending to the dealership besides location.

I should have been clearer. No, it doesn't look factory at all. It looks like something that someone installed looking for the easiest way to access it. I am presuming that the little blue rectangle is a button. If it is a button, I would guess that it turns something on and/or off.
If it is plugged into the OBD port, I would remove it and make sure that I wasn't paying for anything related to it....and have a discussion with the dealership.

No its not pluged in to the OBD port, the wires go straight through the firewall to the engine bay.

A quick search of the interwebs shows that it is an aftermarket alarm system programing button. Karr Security System.
Do you have a link to this, thanks?
