Started my 2500 today. Outside temp, 45. Engine pre heat came on as normal, started and heard lifters (?) ticking. Allowed warm up before heading out. When cooling temp hit 80* ticking stopped. Rotella used at dealership 3 months ago and truck only has 5-6k mileage on oil.
So here is the question. Is this normal? I’ve never noticed it before.

You can tell them about it at next service to get it noted, otherwise turn up the radio. FCA not doing anything for abnormal noises unless really robust such as rods knocking. Drive it. Incidentally, what year and mileage?

Thanks for your input. 2022 37k mileage.

My truck, she rattles a bit when first started and it’s cold out, nature of the beast. Just keep an eye on oil levels and make sure you’re getting a good quality oil and filter when your truck is serviced and go on about your day.

Geno’s for filters and Shell rotella for oil. I guess waking the beast on cold mornings is a lot like me, grumpy!
