Hello all! New Member 2nd time Ram owner. I just traded out of a 2018 Rebel into a 2021 Ram 2500 bighorn. I can honestly say I have owed a few of the brands ( Ford, Chevy ,Toyota) in multiple sizes and trims and swore I would NOT own a Ram. That was until I drove the Rebel.

Anyway with the prices being offered on trades I got back more than I paid after owning it for 2.5 years.. ONTO the new Ram. Love the truck! BUT we had a big rain storm yesterday and when I got off work I noticed that there was water on the inside of my windshield - GREAT! nothing like a new truck and a water leak...… It was mid way down the windshield where I noticed it pooled up and clinging. Wiped it off and when I go the truck in the sunlight you can see the streaks the whole way across the windshield from top to bottom.... I called service, today where I bought the truck, and they told me no appointments until the 25th.. So, what, just let it leak I guess? Who cares its only new... I tried to call another local Ram dealer and they told me they didn't have a body shop and to take to the place I JUST got off the phone with.

Should I call another Ram dealer or just wait? You would think a big water leak would have a priority on a new truck but … Jeese. I am assuming this leaking is coming from the clearance lights. The guy at the body shop said its " unusual for a Ram to leak - do you have a sunroof"? no, I don't. " OK, ya then the 25th is what I have available".

If its bothering you that much are you capable of pulling down the headliner? If so, remove the front part and let it hang down and bust out the water hose. Spray from every direction while someone is on the inside watching for a leak. Chances are you will have to add a dab of silicone and be done with it. On my old F-150 the GPS or Sirrus XM antenna was leaking and water would drip out of the A pillar on the passenger side. Its either clearance lights, antenna, or possibly your windshield.

I understand its a new truck and you should not be working on it. However, if its bothering you enough to post about it you might want to fix it yourself. Getting appointments at dealers these days is nearly impossible, especially within a few days. I have found that with pressing matters if you show up at the dealer they will fit you in within a day or so. You could show up and state you have a "SEVERE" leak from inside the cab and you have fear of mold and I guarantee they get you looked at ASAP.

ya, as you mention it is new and I dont want to be ripping at my headliner and or making more of an issue. Just want it to be right from the dealer but apparently that's a lot to ask especially for what you have to pay... LOL I am waiting for a return call from them so I might mention the leak / mold thing..

One thing I noticed. The rain we had when this leaked was blowing in from the drivers side and front left corner of the truck as you sit in the cab.. Last night we got hit REALLY hard with rain for an extended period of time and it was hitting either straight down onto the truck or blowing in from the back of the truck. When I went out to look in the truck the windshield was BONE DRY.. Odd.

Water leaks are frustrating. I hope it gets resolved quickly. Good luck.

Escalate the issue, start with your salesman and the sales manager and work up from there. They should be able to head over to service and pull strings to get you to the front of the line.

Brand new truck I would be bothered too.
Don’t rip anything down that’s the dealers problem you have a warranty for a reason with a new truck.

This makes me a bit concerned that I ordered the clearance lights but if I do end up with a leak I will likely silicone then as others have done. Fortunately, for this instance, it doesn't rain much in Az, although lately it has

Sorry I have not provided an update lately! Been so busy doing other things it slipped my mind. I kept my appointment with the dealer and dropped my truck off after a run down with the manager of the body shop and with one of the other body shop guys. It was late evening by the time they called me back and they explained to me that they soaked my truck for hours from many angles and were UNABLE to duplicate any leaks... They Also explained that the factory clearance lights have a screw holding them in place and this screw has a rubber or silicone oring on it to help seal against leaks. When removing a couple of the lights checking around they "found" some of the orings were damaged so they ordered new ones and installed them the next day. After another bath to check for any other leaks they called me to get it. We have had some pretty darn heavy rains and I am happy to say I have not seen any more water inside the cab!! Hopefully it stays that way.

That's great news! Glad they got it fixed. Something to remember since I have the clearance lights also.
