We're up north and always bothered by frozen DEF. We can get a block heater for the engine. Why isn't there a 120V heater for the DEF available and why isn't the tank insulated?. aka Nanuk of the North..

You can buy 12 volt heaters that stick to the tank. They install them on RV's black and gray tanks to keep them from freezing . Amazon sells them a couple of brands about 75 3m stick on on Dier TEK . Just look under rv tank heaters . They should work .

Bothered in what way? Frozen DEF is not going to throw a code and there is a heater in the tank that thaws the DEF as you drive. Once thawed it resumes normal operation. The only real risk is letting a full tank freeze. There's supposed to be room for expansion but there is still a risk of cracking a frozen tank if too full. Simply keep your level at 3/4 to 1/2 full and you'll not have problems.
