I recently changed my rear shocks and noticed I have an air suspension bag that needs to replaced. I called the dealership and was asked if I wanted Firestone aftermarket or Mopar OEM. I was told the OEM are $3000 for one side. That if I used the Firestone its $300.00 but that I would need to get a kit to do a lil jimming. I looked and find out that I already have Firestone airbags. The dealership asked me if I purchased it used. Nope. Brand new. The first 4 kms were put on by myself when I test drove it. Its a 2021 Ram 3500 DRW Limited. Should I not have OEM Mopar air suspension bags and not the Firestone aftermarket?

That’s the first auto-level bag I’ve heard of failing.

I’ve also heard that the OEM bags are made by Firestone.

Are you out of warranty?

The OEM bags are expensive, but not $3K. MSRP is $2,055 and most places are selling them quite a bit cheaper.

Firestone has been making airbags for many decades and are used in big trucks and trailers. Probably better quality than ones that have Rams name on them.

Guarantee they aren't made by Dorman. That crap wouldn't last a year or two.

100% Firestone. I just looked at mine and pretty sure this is how they spell it.

I purchased this truck brand new December 2021. I just over 2 years I have just under 400kms on it. I use this truck for Hotshot loads. The truck barely sits. With that said. We were doing maintenance installing new shocks and noticed this air bag is not inflating.

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes this is the same ones our truck came with. The dealer ship tells me a brand new bag for one side is $3000 CAD. Said I can get after market for $300 but that the after market are Firestone. I trust nothing they say. I will order it online and change it myself.

Yes, we ended our warranty in less than one year. This is a truck I use for hotshot hauling. Just under 400 Kms in 2.5 years.

Ahh, yes might be closer to $3000CAD from the dealership. Ordering online would be you best bet.

I know this post is a bit old, but, I recently installed the Timber Grove bags (Firestone) on my 2023 4X4 6.7 2500. I got the 3" drop reverse level kit. Very nice kit. All stainless steel hardware. From what I see they use the same bags on all the kits. They do the drop and lift via the brackets. The ride is amazing compared to the stock coil springs. I have them hooked to a AirLift pump and gauge. Empty I run 35 psi in them. My guess is these bags would hook up to the factory air bag system. Price wise they are okay. I'd do it again.

I think GoodYear is OEM airbag but I could be wrong.

My son’s 2015 Mega cab 6.4 has like 160k miles on it. Factory air system is holding up. On my 2023 Crew SB 6.7 I put the 3” drop Timber Groves which are Firestone bags. They look like the factory bags.
