2021 Ram 2500 Cummins Remote Start add on.

I have a 2021 Ram 2500 Big Horn that didn’t come with remote start. I have seen in other places on the internet that to add it all I need is the correct key fob with the remote start button and the dealer could just enable the option on the truck. Is this correct or is there more to it?? Thanks

Possibly a couple other items like a safety switch under the hood. There’s a large thread on here with a title similar to “adding remote start to a tradesman” try a search for that.

Look at your hood latch, if there are 2 wires connected to it you will only need a fob. Look carefully, they are on the passenger side, a little hard to see. Then good luck explaining to the dealer why you don't need a remote start kit.
