Hello all, I've owned two 5.9's before and loved them. I'm very excited to try out a HO 6.7! I looked on and off since last February and didn't find one on the lot equipped the way I wanted close by so I just ordered it a month ago. Dealer said six weeks, I hope it's not much longer than that. It's a Delmonico red 3500 Laramie Longhorn.

Thats the best way to do it if you can. Build your own and pick it just the way you want it. I think mine took a little over two months. It got built super quick then the worst part was knowing that it was just sitting there. It was a stressful experience but an extremely rewarding and gratifying one snd glad I did the whole build and price your own experience. Btw , welcome to the hohd club, lots to take in and always room for another opinion

Thanks everybody! I can't wait. It will mainly be used for pulling the skid steer around and a truck camper with a 14000 pound trailer with our rock bouncer behind it. I've been doing that with a 3/4 ton Duramax, plenty of power but squatted the truck too much even with airbags. I don't like the braking power of my gmc either. The Ram should be a nice upgrade.

Braking power of this truck (with exhaust brake and tow/haul mode ON) is probably my preferred thing about it. It does work plain and simple. Combined with the ACC, that is a terrific combo to stay out of trouble.
You gonna love it!

If only there were a way to use the exhaust brake only on cruise and not have the service/trailer brakes also applied. Still haven't figured that one out.

I just re-read the exhaust brake in my owners manual for the 2020 2500/3500. It did not mention any trailer braking being applied. Only rear wheel (assuming not in 4x4 mode).

Set the EVIC to trailer brake view and I think you will see it when it does. I noticed it by the drag and seeing the reflection of my truck brake lights on the front of the fifth wheel.

It does, I played with it a few weeks ago and trailer brake gauge moved with exhaust brake gauge.

You can set your trailer gain to lower. While brake will still be applied, they will be less aggressive and wear less. I think having brake lights activating on trailer is a good thing. Warns the people following you.

Good point, and I do run my brake gain up and down depending on conditions.

Well that's a pretty cool unexpected feature, so it automatically applies the trailer brakes when the exhaust brake comes on? As when you have exhaust brake set to max and it comes on when you let off the throttle but don't touch the brake pedal?

Pretty much, sort of.

Auto let's you coast, ON always engages on pedal lift. Trailer or no trailer. Neither applies trailer brakes when NOT using cruise (unless you step on the slow pedal).

Either one uses the trailer brake controller with either regular cruise or ACC.

(AFAIK)

What truck do you have?? I sure hope that is not the case as I like use exhaust braking down hill and only use trail and truck brakes when I want to do so. I wonder if it is a ACC module thing. I won't be hooking up a trailer for a few weeks.

In sig: 2020 3500 Limited HO/AISIN, loaded with pretty everything except sunroof and VSIM.

As I recall, the trailer brake application occurred on both regular cruise and ACC - because they both hold speed but only ACC will slow you more with a slower vehicle in front - but I only had one opportunity for that to happen coming down the eastbound side of Wolf Creek Pass and wasn't playing with it much.

I think @MikeXM has done a little more testing and confirmed brake application in any cruise mode and any exhaust brake setting.

My preference would be let it run the service brakes on Auto mode, but do not use service brakes when in full ON mode.

Of course, without cruise on, there's no service brake application, only exhaust brake.

I didn't run a full test on that topic. I just noticed they seems to occur at the same time when ACC is on. But now my curiosity has been triggered. Lol.
If I have the time this weekend I will hook up the smaller trailer and go do some tests.

Thanks for the info. And the sig line doesn't show on the phone.

Since the trailer brake is applied regardless of trailer connection I wonder if you even need the trailer for the test.
