2020 Ram 3500 Parking brake issue

I have 2020 3500 with about 16k miles on it. I recently started experiencing difficulty getting the parking brake lever to release. When the brake is engaged, I pull the release and the pedal acts like it is going to return, but does not. Sometimes I can barely press back down on the parking brake pedal and hear a click and then it will release. This works sometimes, but not always. Any suggestions on what might be going on?
