Does anyone know if the 48gal tank on the 2020's will retro on a 19 3500 LB crew? I thought I remember seeing a post about this a couple months ago but I can't seem to find it.

Here's a link to the 48 gal tank. It looks like you'd have to get the straps and heat shield for it as well.

Damn that's a great price, it says it's for 2500, is that long bed only?

According to my dealer, it won't work. But I don't really trust them on it.

Never trust the dealer to give you an honest answer for an "outside the box" question like that. I bet it's a straight forward swap, I just can't afford to take the gamble right now since I have to invest in a good set of winter tires soon.

I agree...I just don't want to outlay the cash and not have it work.

I take it no one has bit the bullet and installed a 48 gal tank yet, I see the 2 part numbers gas and diesel. I have a short bed so cannot try but have been thinking about a long bed 6.4 after my truck goes down the road as it's been in the shop again with cp4 pump issues again in less than 9k. There are not many Billet Silver Long beds around especially no 50 gal tank listed on the window sticker.

The parts website doesn't really specify if long bed or short bed makes a difference for fitment.

I'm thinking i may just go with a Titan 52 Gallon replacement tank, XDP has them for $1061 + Free shipping, and if you sign up for their emails they'll give an extra 10% off. Bringing it down to $955 which is roughly $200 difference compared to this tank with all the required pieces to make it fit.

My only concern is the CP4. I'd hate to have a CP4 failure, and then give the dealership an out by having an aftermarket fuel tank in the truck.

Got my hopes up. The 55 gallon Titan tank for my truck is still at $1300+, add the skid plate and it's still $1620. I can have the dealer install the 48 gallon Mopar one for $1700.

I also looked up the part number. All the info for fitment just mentioned trim levels and 6.4L. I think it may fit short beds, since the listing I saw mentioned Power Wagon, and those only come in CCSB. I would love to put a 48 in my CCSB hemi truck, as this 31 gal tank isn't cutting it (340ish miles on a full tank).

Maybe it works in the Power Wagon because the 6.4's don't a 5 Gallon DEF tank taking up space.

@RV_Goose, where did you find the skid plate for the tank at? I couldn't find it on Titan website. I have the 55 gal tank I need to install. Would like the skid plate if it's available to put in at the same time. Having the tank hang 2.5" lower has me a little concerned. Not that I offroad my dually mind you.

I called Titan and asked. They said they no longer sell the skid plate as it was not needed. please call them and see what answer you get. I would install one if I could find one.

I already have the Titan tank on our 2019 Laramie Crew 8' and you really don't see much of the tank even if you look really hard. I can tell you that it is build like a brick s house and doubt that you really need the rock shield. Just added weight in my opinion.

First long trip pulling my camper with the new tank. Ran it down to an indicated 1/2 tank on the guage and put in 32 gallons. When I get home after vacation I will play with tanks settings via AlphaODB. I would like a more accurate representation. But I do like the added fuel and will adjust.

Anyone add a Auxilery fuel tank in the bed. Just picked up a 45 gallon RDS to add. that puts 95 gallons on hand. I only want to get fuel once a day.

I just finished installing my 98 gal TransferFlow tank. Came off my 03 3500. They have a brand new control system (Trax4) that uses Bluetooth to smartphone. Didn’t work for me so I was able to get them to reprogram my older version controller (trax3) which I like better. 130 gal total capacity

This has me curious now about adding this to my Power Wagon. I wonder why it isn't offered from the factory as an option, especially considering fuel capacity/range is such a hot topic with the 6.4 trucks.

Has anyone actually swapped one of these in with success?
