Recently purchased a new to me '19 Ram 2500 6.7 4x4 with 27k miles. When starting the truck there is an audible click as if its maybe some relay or disengage happening. Also noticed when truck is running in park and you gently touch the brake pedal you can hear it as well upon each pedal push. Had a similar gen ram and buddies have the same truck as well and they don't have this sound. Selling dealer says it's normal but from my past experience with a different 2020 and 2022, it's not as I've never heard this. Attached 2 videos for reference.

Anyone have any insight?

Holy crap that's loud as hell! Usually there is a faint audible click, i think it's the safety release to be able to shift out of park (brake pedal needs to be depressed) but I've never heard one that loud.

Ya thats really really loud...any kind of warranty on the truck?

Sounds like whatever mechanism exists to prevent you from shifting out of park without first pushing the brake.

I agree with everyone else that that is very loud. Mine makes a faint sound but it is audible. I don’t know if they changed the mechanism, but that does not seem normal.

Thanks for the responses everyone, I agree it definitely sounds a bit more abnormal than I would expect. The truck does have a dealer 3mo/3k mile warranty so I think I will bring it back to them and have them look into it. I also am planning on (especially now) buying a extended Mopar warranty (probably Zeigler) to cover anything down the road for a bit.

Appreciate the insight and confirming my suspicions!

I went to Granger Motors to get my Mopar warranty being they had lower price by $360 at the time I got mine then Ziggy and I didn't have to input the secret code to get a discount: https://www.buymoparwarranty.com/
