All of a sudden when we got up yesterday morning and tried to start the truck it turned over many times before it started. Seems like a possible fuel problem? After it sits for a while it does this every time now. I replaced both fuel filters like 2 months ago with no issues. Help

Just a couple thoughts, maybe you got bad fuel and your filters are really dirty.
Where did you get your fuel filters from?
Folks have had problems with counterfeit filters.

Bootleg filters came to mind first here as well. Amazon, eBay and others are well known for it.

I do have aftermarket fuel filters, but it seems to be the problem was bad Diesel. I appreciate your answers

Because it was suggested by mechanics at the bus yard my wife works at, and it started doing it as soon as we added fuel and when we filled it up all the way at another station it stopped doing it. Maybe a coincidence but regardless the problem is gone. If it starts up again, I will consider changing the filters with stock ones. Again, I appreciate your answers.

Ok bad fuel if it were bad enough to restrict flow and cause hard starts it wouldn’t go away typically. At least with diesel fuel anyways. You would likely get a water in fuel light and need a filter change. This would either be due to algae or actual water in the fuel stations system. Keep an eye on it. Often the chicom counterfeit filters allow fuel to drain back to the tank which causes a temporary loss of prime in turn causes the hard (extended crank) start.

It was about 2 months ago when I replaced them, and they been fine until now and this is the 3rd time with the exact same filters. I'm not 100% surprised they can cause problems and the first thing I did was remove the top filter and double check everything and put it back in. The problem continued until she fueled it up and when she got on the highway, I guess she romped on it really hard and probably blew it out. It may have been restricted I'm not 100% sure but for now the problem is gone and next time I replace them I will consider the headaches I got this time.
