Bought a new 2019 2500 Ram with a 6.4 put 5k miles on it and it broke down on me. WOULDN'T Start...Now I've been without a vehicle for 1 month waiting on what they thought was a starter. Well they said its the Engine that was locked up...so now I'm going to have a brand new truck with a replaced engine. So they expect me to take a bath when my truck loses half its value on resale. People warned me not to buy a RAM but did I listen Noooo...im asking for a new truck and they don't seem to want to deal with that....anyone else having this issue...I think its time for a lawyer

I am deeply sorry for the trouble, @Not a happy camper. We would like the opportunity to look into this for you, as we understand your desires to have this addressed. Please keep in mind, that if you do obtain legal representation, our team will no longer be in the best position to assist you further. Your legal representation will get in touch with the most appropriate teams and know the best channels to communicate. However, we are just a private message away and more than willing to escalate your situation for further support as you work with your dealer. Please do not hesitate to reach out.

I honestly am very upset with the whole situation. I would rather not get a lawyer but I honestly don't want to have to be forced to keep this truck for the rest of my life because the value will be worth nothing (A new truck with a replaced engine on the car fax). I need a 2500 to haul thats the reason I got it. I honestly just want to be treated right in this and be taken care of. I either want it bought back or a good deal/trade on the diesel. I'd rather not have the Gas 6.4 now.

...and another concern would be a service dept who took a months time to diagnose a seized motor as a starter problem. Hopefully you get this resolved in your favor and drive very very far away from said dealer/service dept. If they have had it for the month trying to "diagnose" the problem, could it of been so simple as a starter and they "goofed" something up and caused the seize?

Did it die on you while driving or did you park it and come out and it wouldn’t start? Was it turning over before you gave it to them? I feel like if your engine seized it would have been pretty noticeable.

I was driving and the check engine light flashed and as I was pulling over it died.
