Hey all,
I recently discovered an oil leak in my 2019 3500 6.7 HO, with 62k miles. From everything I can tell it's most likely coming from the timing housing cover or the housing gasket itself. The oil pan gasket may also be leaking but it's hard to tell at this point. I know this is a pretty well known issue with lots of similar reports and a few TSB's out there, one for checking the bolt torque of the timing gear housing cover and one for the timing gear housing cover gasket. There is also one for the oil pan gasket. I normally perform my own maintenance and repairs but this one is a big project and I don't know if I have the time or all the tools to do it myself so I scheduled an appointment at the dealer back in May for this coming Friday 6/20. I stopped by this morning to see if they might be able to get me in a little early, no luck with that but they said that I am out of warranty by a few months so the repair would not be covered by warranty. I purchased my truck in Dec of 2019 so I would have been about 5-6 mo out of warranty by the time I noticed the leak and then the soonest appointment was another month out. Has anyone had any luck with getting @RamCares involved and helping with getting this issue covered by warranty since it's a well known problem and I believe it's something they even addressed in the new 2025 engine to fix the problem? I'm just trying to be a little proactive here so I can hopefully find a reasonable solution.
Any input is appreciated.
