I'm needing one more vital piece of information before pulling the trigger and ordering a new RAM 3500 CC Short bed to go along with a new Wolf Creek 850 truck camper I have ordered. That is the distance from the front of the bed to the center of the rear axle. I'm hoping someone with a 2019+ RAM 3500 CC Short Bed truck can do a quick measurement for me. This particular truck camper with options has a center of gravity at 35 3/4" so hoping that the distance from the front of the bed to the center of the rear axle is close to this number. I know that the specs for the 3500 shows a pretty wide range for COG - basically the entire wheel well - but I'm hoping this camper's COG will sit close to the center of the rear axle if not a bit in front of it.

With none of these trucks on dealer's lots to look at in person these days it is so hard to get some of this detailed but important information without asking for some help from other owners.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Bob.

RPS1030 - Thanks this helps. So based on this particular camper, the COG will be approx 1.5 inches behind the center of the rear axle. I found a 2016 version of this document: "RAM Camper Guide" that shows that the COG should be between the front of the bed and up to 50" from the front of the bed. I can't find a similar document for 2019+ trucks however and the 2016 version does not list the 6.4 hemi (just the older 5.7 hemi). Not sure if that would affect things given the 2019+ redesign and the larger engine. https://www.ramtrucks.com/assets/bbg/pdf/2016/docs/ram/hdramcg.pdf

Anyone know if a more recent version of the RAM Camper Guide exists online? Google can't seem to find it if it does.

My 2021 2500 actually came with a truck camper loading document specific to it( VIN, model, sequence numbers). Will see tomorrow if my 2022 3500 has the same. For the 6'4" bed it shows that the forward most point for the camper COG will be no more than 75" forward from the edge of the bed and the rearward most COG will be no less than 25" from the edge of the bed.

Thanks jeep65glen, I have now ordered the truck, I went to 2 dealers and none of them have ever heard of the truck camper loading document. I asked the dealer I ordered it from to run down a copy for me - we'll see if he can find it. I'd appreciate if you do find a copy and see if the measurements are about the same. I'm pretty sure they are going to be about the same and there is quite a bit of range for COG so I'm not all that worried about it anymore.
