As the title describes, does any member have the LED light option, more likely a Bighorn with the LED option? I broke the left rear LED tail-light, and need to replace the assembly, but there are LED lights without the Sensor, and per my Dealer he needs the VIN to check.

I have them, but they are the night edition.

Will your VIN not work?

Can you remove the sensor from the LED with, to the LED W/O?

My truck has the sensor, the VIN does work, but at the high cost for the assembly (68361721AH) at @ $700.00 the lowest I can find, I'm hoping to buy the assembly without and move mine over to the new assembly. FWIW my dealer quoted me $1248.00 dollars for just the left side.

Jimmy07, do you know of any video's (You Tube as an example) for DIYers?

Not specifically of someone doing it, but below you can see the area that needs to be cut out, and that the screw holes for the heat sink are present:

@Jimmy07, ok I removed taillight and the sensor.

Question, does the new part W/O sensor have the plug present and Wiring to main plug. Or do I need to remove plug as well as the sensor, that has the wiring attached. It looks like you can twist the main plug off the assembly. I don’t want to pay $400.00 to find out it won’t work.
Thanks.

You need to de-pin the 5 wires from the main housing connector. It does twist to pull out of the housing, but there is a hidden tab that needs to be depressed, otherwise you’ll sheer it off when you twist.

If I de-pin them from the old assembly, how do I insert them in the new assembly?

So I found the assembly W/BSS on eBay for $349.00 free shipping. The part identification tag was covered with a new tag with different number. I purchased it, with the return option at my shipping cost if it doesn’t fit, but with picture comparisons it’s the same part, or so I hope.

If you have a 2020+ truck, you need to make sure you don’t buy a 2019 part number. The sensors are different. If you have a 2019, make sure it’s a 2019 part number. It’s fine to use 2020+ sensors on a 2019 if it’s a pair, but I wouldn’t run one 2019 sensor with one 2020+ sensor.

It was advertised as 2019 through 2022, 2500 3500 trucks

I can swap sensors to be sure they match left and right.

@Jimmy07, after sleeping on it, I’ll assume I can move my old sensor to the new assembly, also I’ll assume the female and male plugs to the sensor are the same as well?
