Hi everyone. Been searching all the Ram forums for help, and nothing has really been able to answer my question. This site has given me a lot of good ideas though. A lot of good info on here.
Here’s the situation. As everyone knows, the rear of the tradesman is really high. I just purchased a toy hauler and have towed it twice now. The towing isn’t an issue, the truck does what it’s supposed to. The issue is hooking and unhooking the trailer. I have the WDH set up so everything is level when it’s hooked up. Like I said earlier, towing is great. Due to how high the rear sits, When I hook and unhook, I have to drive the front wheels up on blocks because the tongue Jack maxes out, even on flat ground. I can’t be the only one to have this issue. Has anyone else dealt with this? I’m thinking of going with the timber grove set up and replacing the coils with bags. That way I can lower when need be. Because eventually when I finish my trailer parking, due to the slope, I foresee some issues with the rear of the truck. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry. I forgot to mention. It does this with two 4x4’s and two 2x4’s under the tongue. 39784669-B3FD-4005-BE97-DB003D51146B.jpeg

I can’t tell from the angle but does you wdh have adjustments for ball height. if it does I would adjust that, you will still be able to level the truck just with a lower starting point.

Yes it does. I will have to give that a shot. I am new to WDH’s and just assumed if I lowered the ball, it would cause the trailer to be nose down. Thanks for the idea
Looks like you need a different jack on your trailer, you should have a minimum of 12-16” travel in the jack, and I can’t see your truck dropping that much
I was curious if I needed a new one. It seems to max out pretty too easily. And the rear of the truck sags pretty good. I will have to take measurements next time I hook it up.

Just as a reference for you I went and hooked up my battery on the camper and took full up/down measurements DB794D25-67AC-486B-B8D7-345BB40AB981.jpeg8F578E16-3CCB-463B-8C0F-09E93A431351.jpegC9EBC1C3-418D-4EA3-B920-610D721B141F.jpeg
