I posted in the new member introductions area, but I know that's not always a high traffic area.

I'm looking at a 2016 3500 mega cab dually with the HO engine & Aisin trans Laramie Longhorn with less than 21k miles on it. It belongs to a coworker that is very meticulous with his stuff and he bought it new. It is super clean and he says it even still smells new inside! I believe the only heavy towing he has done with it is a couple of local trips with his backhoe on a gooseneck. According to him, the only items this truck does not have from being completely loaded is the 3rd brake light camera and the factory rear air bags. I have the opportunity to buy it for $55k. I know that standard procedure for a newbie on a forum is to do lots of searches and put in my "due diligence" in researching and I intend to. That being said, I don't have a whole lot of time to make a decision. So, any help/input is very welcome and appreciated!!

I don't know the differences between the generations. All I know is the H.O. with Aisin is the real deal and the 68rfe can be problematic. That's pretty much the extent of my knowledge. I have no idea what's considered desirable and what's considered something to avoid.

Thank you in advance

P.S. Welcome to HDrams!

We'll let it slide this time., but please don't cross post. It confuses members when they see the same thing posted in multiple threads.

Most users watch the 'What's New" or Latest Activity so i wouldn't worry about a new post being overlooked if the title is well stated.

I would prefer the two threads get merged, don't care where, so please just let me know which forum you want it in.
