I have a 2016 6.7L 3500 that I bought used from a local dealership. Upon purchase I noticed that it has no DEF system, muffler or other emission items. It is straight piped as well. There are no codes coming up, truck runs great. I recently purchased an Edge CTS3 Juice with attitude programmer, EGR delete kit w/throttle valve delete kit. Upon reading the install directions for the tuner, it said if truck has a current tune it needs to be returned to stock prior to installation of tunes from the new tuner. My problem is I am not sure it has been "tunned" as it seems to have stock power in comparison to my other two trucks of the same engine and gen prior to programing them (both purchased brand new from dealer). So, I am wondering if anyone has some tips on how to know if it was just stock tuned to get rid of error codes after removing the above items vs. tunned other than stock? Also, what is the best way to proceed with installation of new programmer, go forward and assume it was a stock tune? have someone flash back to stock then install the new programmer and can this be done? Or does anyone have a better suggestion for me. Thanks in advance for any help and or advice!

If its deleted its tuned…. The Edge is junk and also they dont support deletes from my understanding.

Try talking to the dealer that you purchased the truck from, my 2015 1500 I bought used had a tune but the dealer took the programmer out of it, one of the service techs kept it to use in his truck but it was vin locked, so he gave it to me. The only other option you would have is to have the dealer flash your PCM back to stock.

There is no good way to know what is on it now. Throw the Edge tuner away, it's useless to you at this point and not a good tuner anyway. If you can find new tuning from Canada you can just flash it over the current tune, no need to go back to stock.

.

Return the Juice and get a lifetime support tune and tuner from a reputable outfit (like valley center in CA). The tuner will offer a base tune based on current parts (or lack therof) and can work to dial it in if needed.

Assuming you're somewhere that isn't going to hamper your registration due to missing parts...

Otherwise you're chasing your tail and emptying your wallet.

Good advice from the members here.

But you Really should’ve caught that before you bought it. Actually How did you NOT know you were buying a fully deleted truck? You say you have two other trucks just like it?

You could’ve bought someone else’s nightmare. I hope the truck gives you a good service life without issues
