Awesome engineering...amazing resistance to cutting. Holy cow! It's a 20 lb. basketball to lock up your bumper pull.

It is correct that criminals with cutting power tools can get other styles off with some effort and noise. But so can you if something goes wrong with the lock. My concern with this one would be if something went wrong with the lock mechanism you would be SOL. One of the reviews said that in 20-degree weather his would not open until he was on his back working on it for a while. It is a mechanical locking device and, although unlikely, it is possible it could have an issue and not come off. So I guess the question is which has better odds? That you will never encounter a criminal willing to go to the effort and racket to cut off a lesser quality lock? Or that you will never have an issue with this lock that prevents you from removing it? Cripes, I wish life was simpler, and safer so we would not have to think about things like this!

Living in a state where vehicle and trailer theft is one of the highest in the nation, I have no issues spending $$ to secure my trailer, that one does seem a bit excessive though, I do have ft knox lock boxes on both if my goosenecks which run about $250 each with the lock. If someone wants your trailer bad enough they will get it, I have seen trailers stolen simply by hooking the chains on and dragging it. Anything I can do to deter someone from wanting to steal my trailer I will. If it gives you piece of mind I say go for it.

After seeing the terrible towing pics, they'll just drag it with the towing chains and deal with it later.

I do have carbide tipped reciprocating blades that i have cut tool steel with i wonder if it would cut it lol

Thats exactly what they do around my area with the light weight trailers. Here today gone tomorrow and they dont even hook up. Just chain them up and go.

trailer prices have been trending up like everything else. I’d spend the $350 for peace of mind, if nothing else. Theft tends to intersect with opportunity and effort. I have a pretty secure storage area for my trailers but nothing is completely secure, the effort required to successfully make off with my trailer will definitely go up significantly.

$350 sheesh. if someone steals trusty rusty that’s a good excuse for me to buy a new trailer. Then maybe I’d buy that lock for the new trailer.
