I have a 2500 Gasser on order and currently gathering some mods. I see several of you are using Thuren front leveling springs and fox shocks for a level kit. They only offer this is 2" and even though I don't have my truck yet, I measured one on the lot and it was 1.5" difference front to back. It was a diesel version but I'm concerned about the front sitting higher than the rear. Also, I'm trying to avoid squat as I'll be pulling an 8500 lb TT so maybe some suggestions for that?
As it stands, I'm considering placing an order for the 2" front springs and the shocks today but like I said, I do have a few concerns.

Unfortunately just about every unit has a different amount of rake upon delivery, so trying to guess without seeing the truck first is going to be a challenge.

I guess if you really wanted to have the kit in hand before the truck arrives, pick what you want and then you may end up just having to add a 1" spacer to the rear if you don't end up liking it.

I was thinking the same thing. I assume I can buy those block spacers about anywhere for my application. I have a week long camping trip planned a few weeks after the truck is "supposed" to arrive so was hoping to have parts in hand. I don't mind a small amount of rake anyway so if the 2" is supposed to completely level it perhaps I should just get the blocks.

If you dont want squat then you need to put 2” front 2” rear... if you level it you will squat with just about anything especially with a camper
You cant check any truck as some have a higher front from plow pkg’s like line sits 1” higher than most so i am actually putting 1” in the rear as i like a rake

How about installing Timbren helpers? I have those on my current GMC and even though they work, it seems to hit on every bump and it's pretty stiff.

helpers won't lift the rear.

you really need a matching spring for the rear. I did carli 3" fronts, so I went with a pure performance 2.5" rear spring to keep a bit of rake.

Looking at the air bag solution to prohibit some sag too.

My 21 Cummins is almost 2.25" higher in back (measure from ground to center of wheel arch on both sides and averaged). Do you recall which trim level it was? I believe Carli or Thuren said Ram uses a few dozen different spring combinations based on which packages you get due to varying weights. It may be worthwhile to measure a gas truck in your trim level if possible.

Do you think this truck will squat even with a weight distribution hitch? I hate to order bags if I don't need them but they seem to be a common choice so I'm assuming everyone is experiencing squat on a leveled truck.

If you could tolerate a few days of potential squat, you could just wait and see. Install is super simple (I think it took me 3 hours, but I was running in and out between work meetings).

Agreed......I ordered some bags but then cancelled them. I have timbrens on my heavy 1/2 right now with a very slight squat so perhaps with the weight distribution hitch it won't even be necessary. Thx

you will have some squat with a WDH

So just as an example and for reference. My 2020 CTD had a 3.5" difference front to rear, I decided to add the Thuren 1" coils to the front only along with their sway bar and fox shocks all around. I stayed with stock rear coils for now as I tow a lot. The coils actually raised it 1.5" in front, some said it would settle but after almost 2K on it now they are still 1.5" higher which I don't mind since it dropped the rear 1/2" and it looks good now. But when I dropped the trailer on the hitch it was a 1/2" low in the rear which I knew wasn't going to work. Adjusted the weight distribution hitch and it is now 1/2" higher than the front. I still have a very slight porpoise on certain bumps so I'm going to add Sumo Springs to the rear to stop that based on Thurens recommendation.

I had them on my previous GM and loved them.

It's worse on the 2500 with coils. They hit the stops quite often empty. I'm thinking of switching to air for smoother ride. I really notice it with my utv trailer. It's just enough to make the timberens touch but lift them on a bump.

Fwiw. I went a 2" level up front on my gasser. It's level empty maybe 1/2-1" high at rear. and only about an inch low with timberens and my fifth wheel. Wich I'm fine with.

I only did 1” on my truck because I had 1-3/4” of rake and my truck squats less than 1” with my 800lb of tongue weight from my trailer.

My opinion is that you need to have the truck in hand before you make a decision. I F’d up and ordered a 2” level kit and it sits in a box in the corner because it wasn’t what I needed.
