Just installed a BD Diesel 2 Low Unloc 4WD on our 2014 Ram 2500 4WD with a G56. The issue with that truck was backing up a toy hauler up a steep grade required 4 Low, but the front axle would bind up. Works excellent on a manual transmission 4WD system, but does it disengage the 4 Low front axle as smoothly with an automatic? Recommended to turn on prior to going into 4 Low and turn off after shifting out of 4 Low.
Planning to purchase the same for our 2016 Ram 2500 PW and 2024 Ram 3500, but those are both automatics. The issue I have with the PW is that the front axle easily binds up on our local 4x4 trails while going up steep tight turns.
Running the rear lockers engaged without the front in 4 Low would allow for steering as well as enough traction to the rear. As it is the steering becomes a struggle to correct for with the truck wanting to pull straight.
I'll wait on the 2024 for the warranty to expire before installing.
