So we sold our travel trailer (GVWR 7500) for a fifth wheel (GVWR 11000). From Jacksonville FL to North Alabama I would average around 8 mpg. With the new Fifth wheel I went from Lakeland FL to North Alabama and returned right at 10 mpg. I installed the Andersen Ultimate and installed a B and W gooseneck hitch myself. I'm loving this truck more now, fifth wheel is much easier to hook up and it tows so nice (feel like I'm completely connected to the trailer now). I don't feel any lack of power whatsoever and I ran 67-68 mph on average. On steeper grades instead of letting it run up to 3k rpm to sustain 68 I'd let it drop to 64 ish and run at 2500 rpm. On level ground at 69-70 I was shocked it was only running 1900-2k rpms.
Just a little fyi if one is considering the 6.4 over diesel. BTW, I have the 3.73 gears. Only mod to truck is Timbrens and all terrain cooper tires stock size with Fury wheels rated for 3600lbs each.
