I bought a kit to rehab my headlights about a year ago. Worked pretty well, but the haze has returned. I'm getting older and need all the light I can get! Based on experience, would you play with one of the rehab kits, go to someone who specializes in rehab or buy new parts. I'd love projector replacements which provide distinct cutoffs, but really have not discovered this Unicorn with a positive following in the forums. I'm in the Willamette Valley in Oregon. I'd appreciate a minute of your time.
Bringing this old 08 CTD back to tow shape.

Check CARID for replacements and then install LED bulbs, you'll be amazed at the difference.

It'll depend on your budget, but there are some really nice units from AlphaRex. They make quality products.

This is the most economical set at just over $400, but you can go wild at over $1,000.

What is your experience to recommend this brand? Have you used the halogen projector units? They look very cool on the web page, I've just had such bad luck with bulbs and lights not performing or burning out too fast, I'd like a referral from a happy user. Thanks.

I bought a set of OEM for my 04 from Rock Auto as part of a 'refresh" I did about a year before I decided to get rid of it, have to look but they were not expensive at all.

Looks like mine were around $210 each in 2020.

If you're looking for OEM housings, here you go:

I was between AlphaRex and Morimoto’s for my 4.5 gen. However, I ultimately went with Morimoto because of price and I got a true HID vs a halogen projector. Both Morimoto and AlphaRex have set themselves apart as the premier light makers. No different than saying Ram/GM/Ford in terms of the “best truck”. Pick your flavor and it’ll for the most part do its job + good support from both, buying a premiere American brands tends to mean good support. I didn’t link Morimoto because they only have one offering for your truck, and it is not cheap at $1,100+ tax. Some sites have them for a little less, but here is the Morimoto site:
