Bought a ‘22 2500 Tradesman gasser and wondering, are there ANY viable options for tow mirrors?
Was told by local dealer that the bolt pattern on OEM tow mirrors won’t work on Tradesman trim level…
Anyone have first hand recommendations?
Thanks

I went OEM with my 2022 Tradesman. Be sure you get the brackets for the inside of the door. They are cheap insurance to insure you dont create damage. Then go to your local dealer and have them activate the "sales code" in the system and flash the BCM. Takes 25 minutes in total, they probably charge 100 bucks. I did mine at work as we have system access to MOPAR. By doing it this way the functions will always work even after a dealer flash because it will be in the MOPAR system as an added option. I did the same to add the factory trailer brake, installed in my driveway in an hour and then added/flash.

My 19 tradesman came with OEM tow mirrors…. The dealer is full of crap they are all the same door they would not make a special door stamp for one trim level…. The OEM mirrors are direct replacement for the non towing mirrors

The dealer told me they can’t sell items to add on if it’s not offered by mopar as a kit or something stupid like that. I bought boost auto mirrors and factory brackets for them and they’re great.

You are 90% correct. Mine came without the tow mirrors. I added OEM but you need to add the factory brackets that came on your truck, inside the door, under the door panel. Not looking to argue here, just pull your door panel and you will see them. Think they cost me $23. Seriously folks, Google is your friend. All the factory parts to do it right are available without the dealer. It is only the "sales code" activation that you need a dealer or a shop with the access to the Stellantis system (dealer connect) so the turn signals and the puddle lights work. And if you get power folding ones you need a new door switch that is plug and play. Frankly after market are cheaper in some cases I am sure but the electronics are there, in the door, even if the tow mirrors didnt come on your truck.

For what it’s worth, my truck had the rivnuts for the reinforcement brackets pre-installed in the driver door but not the passenger door. They come with the reinforcement kit.

Crazy what happens, Mine came without the rivnuts, but those came with the bracket kit I bought. Depends on how many beers and what day in the factory? :)

Well yea they have used reinforcing brackets since they came out with those mirrors 25 years ago i have never bought oem i thought they came with the brackets like aftermarkets do. Also alfa obd can do the puddle and marker lights too no need for a dealer

While it is true Alpha can do it, When done via the system, there will never be a need or concern to reset. With it now in the VIN profile of the OEM for my truck, the dealer as well as any flash, recall or update will include those changes. But yes, there are numerous ways to do it.

unless they are replacing your BCM the changes will always be there with AlfaOBD… besides i try my best to never give the dealers extra money they are very useless

hell when i asked them to flash my truck for the remote start they tried to argue with me saying i had to buy some module and it wont work unless i buy new keys from them at 300$ each (i soldered the buttons on my fobs) after 10 mins of back and forth the finally flashed it and tried to tell me it was not working still trying to sell me a module that the 4th gens needed. yet when they handed me the fob 2 clicks an it fired up… its the same as most dealers we have 3 in the area and only one is semi ok to deal with

AlfaOBD can now save and restore settings using a backup file.

The truck's modules have been flashed several times and nothing has ever been reset in the BCM. True, there could be a reflash or replacement of the BCM but in that case, see the previous comment.
