Why did tow rating increase by almost 1000 lbs between 2020 to 2022? Specifically talking about the 2500 CC 4x4 SB. Was anything different about the truck or was this just a formula alteration?
Payload did not change.

From dealer catalogs;

2500 CC 4x4

2020
SB - 19020
LB - 17350

2021
SB - 19420 (+ 400#)
LB - 17290 (- 60#)

2022
SB - 19990 (+ 570#)
LB - 18230 (+ 940#)

2023
SB - 20000 (+ 10)
LB - 18150 (- 80)

With whatever towing catalog you are using. Skip the tow rating and do the same with the GCWR.

Seems to me you are using one that is comparing different generic trucks.

So, in the chart, note base weight and GCWR
