Update - I took the truck to the dealership and they replaced the idler pulley first which didn't fix it. They then replaced the
belt tensioner and the problem is resolved. Will be towing my car to the track in a 24ft enclosed trailer this weekend. I'll
update if the issue returns. Thanks...
Brutal_HO - I did notice a squealing noise at 600 miles but it stopped before I could get it to a dealership. My assumption is that it was the belt.
As for my dealer, they're good folks but I'm guessing they can't fix something until breaks or throws a code - which bearings will not do. Thus...
Hey Folks, I just purchased a '21 2500 with a Cummins. With only 700 miles on the truck, I'm getting a grinding noise in the front of the engine.
It sounds like it might by the belt tensioner but is hard to determine. Of course, the dealer won't repair/replace until something breaks.
