It’s the trans. Apparently it’s a common problem. It did sort of sound like brake chatter when I first started hearing it but I narrowed it down to the trans with chassis ears.

I’ve heard a few people saying that there’s has done it since new. I’m just not willing to pay 70k+ for a truck that sounds clapped out. I’m dropping it back off at the dealer Monday. I’ll update if anything changes but it’s looking like a quick lemon case.

Update: Got my truck back today after being at the dealer for 28 days. New transmission and new transfer case and it made the exact noise I took it in for after 10 miles of driving and stoping at the store.

Update: my dealer acknowledge the transfer case output shaft seal leak and the transmission noise. They pulled the trans pan and said it was full of metal. Apparently waiting on an engineering response about rebuilding or replacing. I’m hoping replacing since the truck only has 1300 miles on it...

I’ve had HSA off since day 1. I wish it was that.

I'd be better off with the tractor! I'm hoping they don't write it off as "normal" and actually fix it. Just a pisser that I finally shell out the money for a new pick up and I can't get a few miles down the road without having to take it back.

Good to know I’m not the only one. Unfortunately mine does it pretty consistently. I’m hoping that will play into my favor with the dealer being able to diagnose it though. I’m headed out of town tomorrow so I’m hoping they can pick it up and work on it while I’m gone. I’ll update with what the say.

I have a brand new '24 2500 6.7 that has developed a weird noise when I shift from park to drive for the first time after the truck has sat for ~10 minutes. I first noticed it when I was in a store for maybe 20 minutes. When I came out and went to leave it made this "Chirp" noise when shifting...

Just noticed the same leak on my 2024 2500 6.7 with 1200 miles on it. Got it 2 weeks ago. Guess I’m heading back to the dealer. I also have a bad “chirp” when shifting into drive after the truck has sat for more than ~10 minutes.

Sorry to revive an old thread. Is this the sound y'all are hearing? My brand new '24 2500 6.7l is making this noise when shifting into drive for the first time after sitting for more than ~10 minutes.
