    Automatic Regen too often

I've had similar issues as many have rehashed on the thread. 28k miles since Ram replaced the DPF (after many many months in their possession and thousands of dollars in other attempted fixes). With the exception of 2x, I've had nothing but 24 hour regens since. With all that said, oil level...

    Automatic Regen too often

My truck with August 22 build date had issues starting about 24k, DPF replaced at 27k after dealer had it for several months. Mine occurred just before the tsb, so hopefully they can remedy quickly. I have put 24k on the new DPF and it has gone well. With that said I do run archoil now

    Automatic Regen too often

Just thought I'd share this picture of my tailpipe. Sooty inside, and around the edges. DPF was replaced August 27th last year due to regens every 25-50 miles. Run 6400d every 3-4k miles, and a hot dose of 6500 between. All 24 hr regens since last year with the exception of 2. Just find the...

Is it a 2024? Asking because of your name. 2022 is largely the problem year. Archoil 6400d to clean the dpf well. I run the 6500 a bit hot at 2.5 oz per 10 gallons, but keeps things clean. Also, check your oil for dilution (oil will be "added"), verify an air filter with no glue strips...and...

    Automatic Regen too often

My guess is EGTs are hot enough loaded it keeps the dpf clean. The real tell tale will be does it act up again with regular driving and no trailer. When I had issues, my truck was fine loaded doing just 24 hour regens. Unloaded was another story with regens every 30 ish miles

I have more time on my filter, but as it approaches I am as hesitant as you given what I went thru last year.

    Automatic Regen too often

It's been a year since I went thru it, but I believe you key on and drive at a constant RPM (highway cruise set at like 70mph) for 20 minutes. Then shut down for 20 minutes. Repeat this 2 more times for a total of 3 cycles. This should complete the MAF relearn

Having gone through what you have, I hope it gets solved soon. Ram had my truck for almost 4 months last year...

    Automatic Regen too often

My guess it was the MAF relearn procedure. I'm quoting from memory but it's something like drive for 20 minutes at a constant rpm then shut the truck down for 20 minutes. Then do that 2 more times. Likely that is where the 60 miles came from. Since most highways don't have stop lights, that is...

    Automatic Regen too often

Do you have the September 2022 build date? My dpf got replaced before the tsb came out, but was regening every 30-50 miles Slight update that might help others - with the warmer weather I started to see my regens creep up after nothing but 24 hour regens (except 3 hiccups) since August last...

    Automatic Regen too often

Just curious - have you tried a cetane booster like Archoil 6500? I only ask because I have come to the conclusion that our trucks are tuned to something like 50 cetane diesel, but most diesel in the US is 40-42. This reduces combustion efficiency, and increases soot. With that said - has your...

    Automatic Regen too often

Has the MAF been checked to see if it is German (bad ones) or Chinese (good ones)? If so, was the ECU relearn procedure completed? I'd think that was an easy first one to knock out, but don't see it in the above shop notes.

Just one of the CRAs - H.J.Res. 89 disapproves the EPA's waiver for the "Omnibus" Low NOx regulation, which establishes more stringent emissions standards for heavy-duty vehicles.

    Automatic Regen too often

Congressional review act of 1996 - the recent ones rolling back EPA stuff. Most of what you'll see relates to CARB, but there is other goodies in it for diesel guys like us (or so I've been told). It allows congress to review department rules such as the EPAs, and nix them

DPF replacement under warranty/tsb. Archoil 6400d for interim. Then with the CRA's as law now - have her on a diet post warranty. That is my plan. I'm just in the middle of it now with 5k left until my emissions warranty expires. I'll keep driving it, but as soon as it acts up Bertha will become...

September 2022 and later build dates. Mine was September of 2022.

Side note - if you do the MAF yourself be sure to review the relearn procedure required after it's changed.

    Automatic Regen too often

Take a look at your MAF. If it's made in Germany, swap for the made in China one. I went thru what your going thru. Took them 4 months to resolve. However, I think my resolution was temporary as the issue is likely in programming. I'm also of the belief it is the lack of cetane in fuels. Most...

    Automatic Regen too often

Well, I made it 17k mules without issue on the replaced DPF. I now have had 2 soot based regens in less then 10 hours of driving. Since the replacement last August I've pretty much had straight 24 hour regens getting 900-1100 miles on each. The last 2 were less then 200 miles each and 5 hours...
