    Off-roading - AEV or Carli

I ended up going with the 2.75” thuren and long travel rear coils with fox resi. I just did white rim off road trail—about 100 miles—and it was flawless. I did disconnect the sway bar and used my rear locker (didn’t need it, but would rather not lose traction on some of the steep stuff). The...

    E-Locker in front of my2022 ram 2500

In my own defense the post he is referring to clearly states it’s not an ideal solution—and even goes as far as recommending a power wagon drop in axle instead of doing the work around. In his defense— I was not clear. I am looking for an official sanctioned solution from a manufacturer.

Wow. Who hurt you? I hope you get some help.

    E-Locker in front of my2022 ram 2500

I don’t think there’s a locker for it available? I know it’s the AAM 9.25 35 spline—but no manufacturer lists it as compatible and I’ve heard much chatter there is something different in the newer ones which is why the ARB one won’t fit

    E-Locker in front of my2022 ram 2500

Has anyone successfully added a front locker to the latest model year rams? I have my 2024 Rebel and am itching to add a front locker.

DPF sits low on rebel 6.7. Any skids available?

Not sure I understand what you’re trying to say here. The rebel from what I know (low confidence) is it’s the same height as the other HD’s. The PW sits 1” higher than the rebel HD. I can lift 3.25” and add 37s to get raise me up 4-5” or so.

DPF sits low on rebel 6.7. Any skids available?

    That is a 2024 Ram Rebel 2500 Cummins 6.7

DPF sits low on rebel 6.7. Any skids available?

I’m checking out my clearance and the DPF is what is the lowest part of the truck. This is just screaming to get hit by a rock when on ledges and such. I can’t find a skid system to protect it. Considering it’s marketed for off-road and there are skids elsewhere, why did they leave the DPF...

    Off-roading - AEV or Carli

Ah I just saw that. Pretty sweet. So down the road if I want to run 40s with a 10” wide wheel, would the Carli allow that? The AEV allows up to 41” with their axle relocation parts. Carli says 37 with their 3.25 kit.

    Off-roading - AEV or Carli

So I found on the Carli site that their backcountry system actually has more travel than the pin top, coming in at 9.6”, and their commuter has the most at 10”. Now if I could put find the AEV Bilstein travel numbers…

    Off-roading - AEV or Carli

I appreciate that. You have a good point that there are many different coil rates from the factory. I’ll have to check the Carli site. I find it interesting nobody really wants to share their stroke length for their shocks. They said it’s “proprietary”—but any Joe blow could just take the...

    Off-roading - AEV or Carli

There was another 7 page thread here that did nothing but make me shake my head. Seven pages talking about off-roading and not a single mention of shock travel. So here we go. I am a Jeeper. I know that coils hold the vehicle up mostly, shocks absorb, and the length of the shock defines how...

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

Thanks for the detailed response. Good stuff…. If you have any sources or links to validate adding a front locker to a rebel 2500 is possible, Id be very grateful. Regarding the price difference, I have a dealer offering me 10% below MSRP with a strong trade offer on the rebel, and only 5%...

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

I hear you. The two things I get hung up on when thinking PW gasser is payload. Fully loaded trailer and me dog and wife I’m like 100lbs below payload. Add water to the tanks and I’m prob over. If i want to throw some 37s on down the road it’ll put me over for sure on payload. Plus eat in to...

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

Not too bad on that one. The PW Might be slightly worse due to the tires. I've towed with the 5.7 HEMI but not the 6.4. Lots of chat online about it and it seems 6-9 is about right.

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

ARB sells lockers for front and rear up to 2019 on the HD.

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

I towed a 6000lb trailer round trip through Utah mountains in a rented Laramie Cummins last month and averaged 9-10 MPG. I bet the hemi would have been closer to 6-7

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

If that is an option I’d definitely explore that. I can’t find anyone who has done that though. Rebel Cummins has 3.73 vs PowerWagon 4.10. I would to swap both front and rear axles entirely.

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

I don’t think any of the gen 5 HD rams have after market lockers available yet, unfortunately. If they did I’d definitely be leaning rebel Cummins. Hopefully someone proves me wrong here. The airbags or WDH are a must on the PW

Can’t decide: Rebel Cummins or P. wagon

In the spring/fall/summer I’d say 2 camp trips per month, ranging from (one way) 90 minutes on the short end to 3-4 hours on the mid range trips once per year a long one to the cost about 12-15 hours. Good to know! I don’t have a commute for work so I’d prob save money on fuel but I can see...
