Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

If you have a contract for your unit with the GenY, disregard. But, the new TCS with a B&W companion will let you turn almost to 90 degrees and it is a better and safer system than a gooseneck. The articulation it provides is actually more than the GenY and the vibration dampening is better too.

    Test Drove Ram, Chevy, Ford

47.4 mph average. That's got to be almost all highway miles. I'm not sure I've seen more than a few over 40.

    2019 2500 6.4L - Moving from TT to 5th wheel help

You have totally missed the point. But, to the silly game you think it is, there are legal requirements within a user manual for a vehicle...even for a used vehicle. It's also legally required to be provided and if it is not printed, courts have ruled that electronic versions are acceptable if...

    2019 2500 6.4L - Moving from TT to 5th wheel help

Go ahead and quote yourself in court and see how that works out for you. There are actually legal requirements related to minimum safety equipment, emissions equipment and warranty within the manual. It is referred to by the FTC and NHTSA in several documents.

    2019 2500 6.4L - Moving from TT to 5th wheel help

But laws do, in many cases rely upon the operator, mechanic, etc. following the owners manuals. Great post right there.

    Towing with new 6.4L

I totally agree with you. These new 8 and 10 speeds are excellent. I've seen tests where the 3.73 vs 4.10 gear debate (which I concede favored the 4.10s previously) makes it a draw, or a slight advantage to the 3.73s.

    Towing with new 6.4L

Our trailer is 6200# and I have towed it at about 7400# most of the time. I have been super impressed with the 8 speed transmission. I've gone up and over Vail and through Eisenhower/Johnson several times this year. Temps on Oil, Coolant and Transmission barely move. Maybe 10 degrees...

    Your gun is poop

If you want to stir the pot, post the new video breaking down the P320 cases, and more background on SIG. It's caused a few tussles elsewhere.

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

From what I have seen, you are probably mostly correct. BUT, the manufacturer still designs and specs the frames, or, even on the low end they approve the frame design. I've worked a few cases professionally regarding vibration and related issues within the transportation industry and all I can...

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

Is it Grand Design, or Lippert (who makes 90% of the frames), or suspension or combinations thereof. Workmanship AND design are things to look at, but there are certainly a lot of factors. (Rhetorical questions).

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

I am assuming that is who is making it for them, but that info was not put out directly, so I refrained from saying it was from company X. There is also some rumoring that Brinkley is testing an independent suspension from Lippert.

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

Just for information, this is a screen shot of the "Prototype" pin box that Brinkley has been testing.

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

One reason I despise the Internet and social media...folks post stuff from unknown sources and it just keeps getting passed down. There have been Lippert frame failures, but so far, I've not been able to find one on a Brinkley, nor has Brinkley. A guy actually got kicked out of some FB groups...

Towing a Brinkley - offset required?

GD. Alliance and Brinkley all have approvals for the Gen-Y for warranty, and from their frame manufacturers as well. However, Brinkley just switched the "factory" box to a suspension style (shock and spring) for the 2025s.

Confused about weight ratings on 2500

For many reasons. The newer 2500s and 3500s SRW are built the same except for the rear springs. 10K GVWR saves some $ on registration and insurance for the owner and saves Ram from making two sets of things that are pretty close, dollar wise, at the manufacturer level. Ford has also done this.

I also got the factory style from Amazon. It works great and I have no hesitation recommending it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NN114G6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oil Spec for the 6.4 Hemi

If anyone is interested, I took a few trips towing the trailer (about 7500 pounds loaded) using Tow-Haul mode and just leaving it normal. I do use the gear selector to keep it out of the Eco mode. Anyway, my truck's oil use indicator drops about 1% per 83 miles normally. It drops about 1% for...

Oil Spec for the 6.4 Hemi

I am really second guessing the European Mobil 1. In many tests of V8s, it does not perform as well as the standard Mobil 1 . Even on the Mobil 1 website, if I put in my 2022 Ram 2500, there is NO recommended motor oil for the 6.4L motor. The Euro Mobil 1 has a high level of Calcium, which...

    MarkCO1's 2022 2500 Big Horn

So, I towed the trailer with the truck again last week, but did not use Tow/Haul. Mileage was about the same, if not a tad better, but the Oil Life gauge is definitely falling at a much reduced rate. Guess I don't trust their algorithm.

6 gallon fuel reserve for 6.4?

Yes, low fuel light comes on at 50 miles. I've gone 50 miles after that once, and put in 26.8 gallons. (31 gallon tank) I was towing though. Seems that there is about 5 gallons left when it should be zero miles DTE normally. Could not tell you how much is useable though. My wife gets...
