I looked into this a lot today and settled on the 8.5 in drop. Should be good for stock and I think it'll still be good when I inevitably go to 35's. Plus my trailer has an adjustable coupler so I have a lot of wiggle room to play with.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I feel comfortable now. Best fit in my case definitely sounds like it's a standard adjustable drop hitch and going from there. I think I'm going to go with the B&W Tow and Stow.
Power Wagon brethren,
Looking for a little bit of advice. I just put a deposit down on a small travel trailer (Ember Overland 190MDB, I came very close to putting a deposit down on an Opus OP4 but the Mrs. wanted the extra space, shower, and bathroom...) and I need to decide on a way forward...
I came from the factory at 70/75. Changed it to 55/60 so far, and it definitely seemed to help. I'd imagine going lower like others have recommended would improve the ride even more. I didn't want to mess with low tire pressure warning lights yet.
I'm surprised how much more a L3 weighs over a L2. I have a L2 with bed utility group, center console, and side steps and I'm at 1367. Guess that nice leather really weighs that much more!
Subscribed. I just got my PW as well and have been working on my recovery kit. Already got the Factor55 2.5 receiver hitch shackle mount and 7/8 in shackle, and a couple of soft shackles. Would still like a tree saver strap, kinetic rope, winch extension line, snatch block, and maybe some...
Thanks! That was my assumption when I decided to order the Power Wagon; figured it'd still be up to the task of towing a mid-sized travel trailer well, and be more fun when not towing, ha. We may be in the market for one at some point.
That's pretty much it. Unspool until there are between 5 and 10 wraps of the rope left on the winch and cleanly feed it back in while under load. The owner's manual says something that is "at least 1000 pounds."
My L2 with a center console, side steps, no sun roof, no RamBoxes is at 1367. I do plan on towing a travel trailer eventually, around your size. My thought is that, even with the limited payload (half-ton territory), the Power Wagon is still a HD truck with HD components and powertrain; I'll be...
Had to do the same thing. Couldn't find anything else to pretension it with, so I was out there in the middle of my neighborhood using our Hyundai Palisade :D
I ordered through Granger Motors in Iowa. I think that's the "Chicago" zone. I just picked it up this week, but was delivered to the dealer on the 29th. Actually as I think about it, my truck was built right around the same time as yours, 12/10.
