I made the move...a 2021 4Runner to a 2022PW. My reasons were primarily towing related. Although extremely competent off-road, the 4Runner is not a great platform to tow with, especially in the mountains and at altitude. What I really remember is the feeling when I first sat in the 4Runner...
Did the front and rear differentials at 40K. Amsoil and lots of fun learning about which axles I have and what their capacities are. Wish I would've thought far enough ahead to purchase a pump vs. using the containers the Amsoil came in.
yes, I have the 6.4 gas. I contacted NOCO and it appears I should read the F'in manual before use. There is functionality internal to the NOCO boost that will not jump a battery below 2v unless you manually override. According to the tech, there can be enough amps present to power the starter...

I like to pay attention to my battery in the winter. I have an SAE connector on the battery that I run out to make it easy to plug in to my battery tender.
Wasn't trying to compare vehicles and power plants as much as I was trying to capture Toyota's approach to the US market. You get capable off-road vehicles and reliable ones for the most part...but...they don't scratch my itch for all the reasons listed in my original post. I think the new...
I came from a 2021 4Runner to a 2022 PW...and honestly, I've never looked back once. So here's my .02 and it can be summed up simply with...do whatever makes YOU happy. For me, not being able to 'effectively' (without beating the **** out of the vehicle) tow 2660 lbs of dry camper trailer (with...
