The tick went away once I hit about 600 miles. I just changed my oil the other day, it's back again. Since I've already had the lifters and cam replaced I won't go past 6k between changes. I also replace fuel filters every 10-12k miles. This truck has always had a rattle that starts...

That’s exactly how I do it.

5w40 this change. I’ve changed the oil as well as the dealer. I prefill the filter as well.

45k miles at this point. So far we have changed out the following -idler pulley -water pump -fan assembly -belt tensioner -lifters and camshaft. This truck is gone before the 100k mile is up.

5w40 this change. I was running 10w30 when the lifters failed the first time.

I’ve already had the lifters and camshaft replaced in this truck at 27k miles. Unfortunately this is what it sounded like when it started.

I’m hoping it goes away deep into the oil change.

I’m about to trade this truck in. Oil change yesterday. Ticking is back.

27k miles later. Noise is still gone.

Attached is Description of service. They replaced all tappets, 12 total I believe.

Update: Just picked up my truck a few days ago with the new rappers and camshaft. Noise is gone. thanks for sharing that.

Waiting on parts for new tappets and camshaft. Truck has been in the shop for 5 weeks at this point. The parts are available,however, getting them shipped out to Hawaii with the UAW strike has been problematic. We’re getting close.

Has anybody had any issues like this? I noticed this noise after my first oil change (7k). Dealership used t5 10w30. first time I took the truck in regarding the noise, dealership said they could not recreate. Second time to the dealer, I took the tech on a drive. They said it was the idler...
