Valid point. He's a longtime friend of mine and I have purchased several trucks from him so I trust him. They only thing we put in writing is the sale price and the actual order. Understandably he wouldn't make any promises as to interest rates, trade in values, ect.

My dealer didn't require a deposit. They said if I backed out they could sell it in a day.
