I plan on doing it every 50-60K. It wouldn't make sense to leave it alone because you're just going to get a blocked cooler and those exhaust gasses backing up and coking up other areas. Making a total mess if you don't clean it. What a disaster but I am glad I got it. Now to do intake which...
I washed out my EGR cooler about 6 months ago and it was DISGUSTING. Cleaning the cooler helped space regeneration cycles out further apart. Now I never cleaned the actual intake over the grid heater which I assume is just as nasty. I'm just curious from the guys that have cleaned it out what...
So my 22 Laramie needs one of the LED eyebrow lights replaced. Not the headlight bulb itself but the line above the passenger headlight only illuminates about 60%. The dealer wants to sell me a whole housing for $1500. Is anyone selling parts to repair these units?
Folks I hate the rear fuel filter. Its just the most terrible design ever. My hack is to put the wrench inside a contractor bag, do all the work inside the contractor bag, and then fish out my tool and the filter from that bag. its so dumb. Anyway I see black market performance makes a spin...
The total new cab year is going to be nuts. Until then lets do a 180 on this and let them call the new drivetrain models something else so we're not inundated with glow plug nonsense. What is this a kubota?
Honestly since they're chasing all different gremlins with the different engine and transmission I'd rather let them start an entirely new log and record. Call it a 6th or 20th but not a 4.5/5.
Yup mines filled in ATF+4 and its as quiet and nice as it was before. The old fluid was kinda dirty which surprised me so I'm glad its out of there and new stuff took its place.
Has anyone removed rear bumper backup sensors and moved them? On my 2018 I could leave my trailer hitch in and backup sensors worked. On my 22 they moved the sensors under the bumper and I cannot use my backup sensors at all if the hitch is in. I am going to drill my bumper and just put the...
When I ordered my Laramie I didn't get the gooseneck prep because I hated how my previous Ram's had 5 holes in the bed when I only need the gooseneck holes. So I figured I would add a goose later on and cut only the holes I must have. My need is for the ball to be removable. I was thinking of...
There is a off-brand wheel bearing brand Mevotech that seems to have a lifetime warranty. I might go that route next time since its so easy to swap out anyway.
Super easy replacement. Less time than doing the brake pads. Need a good impact for the hub nut but otherwise easy. Reinstall with light antisieze because you're gonna eat another bearing at some point. Mine was so bad when I swapped it out that you could grab the tire at 12 and 6 and feel...
My original passenger side failed around 50K with tire wear issues and droning noise. I replaced with a bearing from carquest I believe. It was chinese (sad) but did look to be high quality. I am going to see if SKF makes them for our trucks. I know they do for 18 and older trucks.
Cool thanks. I have trouble thinking any random ATF wouldn't be able to lubricate bearings, gears, and chains. I should have a couple quarts of ATF+4 if not that won't be hard to find.
What did you go with? Sure seems like a part time case could run literally anything. Not even sure what the reason to change it is since in 2wd its just running straight through. I think I am going ATF+4 unless someone has had an issue.
My 2022 with Maxcare received a new DEF tank at around 55-60K. I paid $200 deductible. Not sure if anything in the actual exhaust stream would have been covered though. Still saved me a lot of money nonetheless.
Boy would I rather keep the DEF system but ditch that DPF filter. Wish that was the solution presented - lower NOX but lots of particulate...our trucks would run so well.
Thinking about getting a hard tri fold tonneau for my 6.5 non-ram-box bed. Is there a brand that I can rely on because so much of what I find on google is a made up china brand like AFASDF or something. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Also - what happens if I want to use the whole...
