    Would you lift it?

On the warranty issue... my truck is mostly stock and Ram asked for 2 rounds of pictures and oil records from the dealer after the grid heater nut failed. Ultimately, everything was covered, but it was quite the process. It has me debating on what future mods to make (BD Diesel Grid Heater...

    Lifter Failure? Report it here!

So if I've had the grid heater nut failure, does that mean the Diesel gods will protect me from the lifter failure?

    Lifter Failure? Report it here!

I read somewhere that they had multiple suppliers for the lifters. Hopefully they've stopped using the suppliers that were delivering subpar quality roller lifters. At least that's what helping me to keep my 22 with the Cummins Reman engine.

    Warranty Concern

Until the new guy over torques the drain plug! I'm not trying to stir the pot. This is the internal struggle I have, do it myself so I know it's done right or risk dealer service on the truck for a paper trail.

    Warranty Concern

It was ultimately covered, but I even had to produce oil records when the grid heater failed. Unfortunately, my paper records were incomplete due to a house fire last year. I did have the Ram digital log, but they weren't interested in it. We worked through it, but it took longer and I had to...

    Grid heater failure - 2500 6.7

Last I heard Banks also has some significant delays in delivering their monster ram. Being in Minnesota I was concerned about cold weather starting, so went with the BD Diesel unit. I think all 3 will do the job, it is just a matter of cost and overall performance goals.

Vibration when turning at slow speeds

Is the growl/vibration speed or rpm dependent? Does it happen in drive and reverse? Have you pulled the front driveshaft and tested for the vibration?

New Member, Some Friendly Advice Requested

I have an 04 and a 22. Both Diesels. What's best for you is really going to come down to how heavy your trailers are, how far you're towing and what type of terrain (flat vs. mountains). I have a different vehicle for work, so my truck is just for towing and hauling, but to do it again, I...

Grid Heater Bolt Cracked Piston #5

The long block came with a 3-year, 100k mile warranty.

Grid Heater Bolt Cracked Piston #5

I have a stock 22 HO with 34k miles. It failed and ingested the nut into the #6 cylinder. I attached the grainy pics they sent me. It took a little over a month for diagnosis and the STAR approval process for a new long block. Ram covered it under the powertrain warranty as I have about 34k on...

Grid Heater Bolt Cracked Piston #5

I just went thought it on my 22. 68 days I was without my truck.

    Before ordering... Anti-spin worth it?

The LSD being included on the 3500 makes it about a $700 upgrade to the 3500 then if you're definitely wanting the LSD. To me that seems like a worthwhile upgrade in capacity.

    Before ordering... Anti-spin worth it?

Does the 3500 still come with the anti slip standard? Depending on your intended use for the truck, it might be a good option for you. It looks to be about $1300 more.

    2025+ Diesel Engine Issues?

All I've heard about is somewhat random electrical issues. I was considering making a move from my 22, but think I'll go with the Hamilton Cam conversion instead.

    2025-2027 Cummins R&P Ratios

100% agree on the need for factory gearing options. In your situation, why not look for good used axles with the right gears given the cost to re-gear?

Cummins Power Finally Comes To The Power Wagon

I thought the same thing about the 3500 to compete with the Tremor. Some of the reviews I saw shared that they deleted the winch from the Diesel in order to get it to market sooner. They are directing people to aftermarket solutions for a winch bumper. It sounded that they might offer a factory...

    Grid heater bolt

I'm my case, supposedly it was STAR that required the oil records. Although, that could have been the dealership just saying that too. Either way, it does just seem like an excuse to deny warranty for an unrelated reason.

Any Dodge Durango owners here ?

We have a 2016 RT (5.7 Hemi then). It's been a reliable vehicle for us. We had the bolts break on the exhaust manifolds, other than that, just normal maintenance.

    Grid heater bolt

That's frustrating on the warranty coverage for him. I had a little bit of a battle too as I did my own oil changes. To me, the maintenence is irrelevant for a grid heater failure. I understand for the lifter failures why they want oil records given the oil requirement change for the 19+ trucks.

    Grid heater bolt

My 22 just had a grid heater failure too at 34k. @H3LZSN1P3R, What happened with your Co-Workers truck? Thankfully, a long block has been approved through STAR for my truck to be covered under warranty. I was just told yesterday though that the long block is backordered through March!
