Can't help with NC, but have had a non-CDL class A for nearly 30 years. Before that had a commercial CDL for 23 years.

That must be for an option on the highest-end models only. I rarely see that option in use on the lesser models.....

One can go to an automotive store and ask for a glad hand seal for semi trucks. Otherwise they can be purchased in bulk from Amazon or Ebay
