    Moving on…

I hear you on the cab size thing too for a growing family. It was one of the driving factors for me moving to Ford from Ram. That and a lot of the build quality reliability issues you called out that seem to plague the '22s.

Regens at 24hour mark after DPF Replacement

This is good thing and means your driving habits are conducive to a healthy DPF and that your truck is running as it should.

    Idling during lunch break?

I would recommend against idling as you have outlined above. Cummins recommends in the manual to have 16% or less idle time - so about 10 mins per hours. Unless your commute is really long id avoid this.

    Test Drove Ram, Chevy, Ford

I think I was the one that called this out and after owning the Ford for 2 months I can say im really happy with the choice. Being able to put car seats behind either seat, in comfortable positions, without the kids kicking anything rocks. Road trips are easier and more comfortable now and my...

Ive found it pretty helpful when I want to understand the general process for something or need a quick answer for something like a torque spec.

Ive had good success using ChatGPT for these types of inquiries in the past - YMMV

    Towing with a Diesel Rebel

Im not sure how urgently you need to get a new truck but worth noting if you get a 2025 there is no SO/HO - all powertrains are the same. If you go 2024 and older, then id make sure youre getting a HO

*Breaking News* 2025 Orders from MARK DODGE **

Heart wants what it wants so I cant talk you out of that but IMO you can get more from youre money throwing the Carli book at a Ram (or Ford - and if you go Tremor, get a rear locker). All that said there is no way id order a Ram without the air setup today. It was my single largest regret...

*Breaking News* 2025 Orders from MARK DODGE **

Why are you dead set on PXL conversion? Not trying to steer you away from Ram if thats what you want but curious what has you dead set on PXL.

    You’re 100% correct.

*Breaking News* 2025 Orders from MARK DODGE **

Unless they changed something with the 2025 Cummins yes, easily. It happens in 2 ways: 1 - automatically goes into high idle in cold weather conditions when it thinks its necessary. On my '22 it usually went into high idle on cold start and it was under 32* or if it was sitting and idling for a...

    2025 emissions related

I read this as well but wasnt sure if it was for the 6.7 in the Ram or the commercial 6.7s used in other applications. IIRC there is not a 7th injector on this system but hopefully this new setup if superior to the 22+ setups that seem to be wrought with issues. I will say the 9th injector...

Are current-generation Ram HDs smaller than equivalent Ford / GM HD trucks?

If youre open to the aftermarket mods route Carli makes springs for the rear built to handle higher capacity loads (R2 rear springs)- pair that with airbags and I dont think you will have any sway issues. Idk that there is anything special going on with Power Wagons right now but he was...

    DEF drlete

What are you asking for? If youre looking for places to source parts/tunes you likely wont find that by asking openly on the internet, others may chime in and let you know who they use via DM.

Are current-generation Ram HDs smaller than equivalent Ford / GM HD trucks?

Ive owned 3 of the trucks you mentioned here - a 2019 Tundra, a 2022 Ram 3500 and now a '24 Ford F250. Given your use case id get a power wagon and add airbags as others have listed above. My Ram felt quite a bit smaller than the ford (both in terms of cab size and overall drivability) My...

    Test Drove Ram, Chevy, Ford

Ya im intrigued to see how the exhaust brake is while towing - from what I have gathered online it works just as well while towing but its less noticeable than the Cummins. We shall see - wont have the boat out of storage to tow until next spring so for now its just daily/unloaded driving. The...

    Test Drove Ram, Chevy, Ford

FWIW I traded in my '22 ram for a '24 F250 King Ranch Tremor this weekend. I really enjoyed that truck and would have kept it if it were not for the 2 reasons I posted earlier in this thread. Here are my initial impressions of the F250 compared to the Ram: - Cab is significantly larger, I can...

    Test Drove Ram, Chevy, Ford

I believe what @Brutal_HO was referring to there is new systems both before the DPF and after the DEF systems on the new '25s. There have been pretty well documented challenges with '22 and newer trucks emissions systems so it sounds like Ram is addressing those with changes throughout the...
