I’m struggling with how to describe this, but I feel what I can only describe as a rattle in the steering wheel over small bumps/chatter. It’s not noticeable on bigger bumps.

I don’t feel anything if I wiggle the steering wheel back and forth. The ball joints all seem good, and everything appears to be torqued properly.

I feel like it reduces or disappears entirely once I’ve been driving for a while.

Could shock valving be causing this? Any other ideas? I’m stumped.

My truck is over 60k miles and has significant suspension modifications, so it’s definitely not covered by warranty. Thanks though.

Understood! We're also here as an additional layer of communication between you and your dealership if you elect to pay out of pocket as well.

Check brake pedal for excessive play and your Intermediate steering shaft.
I’ll have to check on the brake pedal.

I assume if it were the intermediate shaft then I’d feel it wiggling the steering wheel back and forth, no?

I had a brand new Chevy DRW (2024) that would just clunk over bumps. I imagine if it was really bad it might make noise wiggling the wheel back and forth perhaps.

Ram is replacing my entire brake pedal assembly (includes the gas pedal), I am just waiting on the part to come in. You may want to lightly put your left foot on the brake pedal and see if it remains quiet over bumps.
