Yes, I know the 2025-26 Ram Cummins trucks have electrical issues (I am dealing with a minor electrical issue now), but they are not ALL bad..
Let's add some positivity!
What I like BEST about the 2025 Ram Cummins:
1. Super smoooooth ride.
2. Excellent drive/handling --"Drives like a dream" as we southerners would say :)
3. Overall is "Refined" from my previous Ram Cummins.
4. Excellent Exhaust Brake function! (loaded or empty)
5. Engine is quiet--yet she will "talk to you" when you get on it!
6. Power--you can REALLY feel the torque when you hammer the throttle.
7. Transmission--shifts super smoooth/love it starting off in 2nd/starts in 1st with Tow/Haul on/ Tranny always runs cool/does not drastically drop RPM when shifting gears (like the 68 RFE)--that has to be better on Torque Converter!
8. Headlights are super bright/Lights on Tow mirrors are great.
**These observations are only comparing to previous Ram Cummins generations (see my signature below)--nothing against the Powersmoke or Duramax, but I have never owned one**

Mine is the lack of wait to start time on the new truck. Even when it's cold it just fires right up.

RebelForge,
Yes, I have noticed the wait to start light is seriously under 10 seconds on a cold morning.
(I personally installed the BD Diesel Killer Grid Heater Upgrade Kit on my 2017---it was a pretty big job. The "wait time" on the previous generations is longer, but it is not a big deal).

I remember all the flack that was given about the ZF transmission for the new Cummins when the gear ratio was announced. lol.

Now it turns out that it’s possibly the best transmission in its class and the gear ratio in tow haul mode is much more aggressive than 4:10.

Exhaust brake works down to a much lower speed.
Transmission is smooth.
Acceleration is crazy (like an all electric vehicle).

Quit it guys! You are making me want to trade my [old] 2019 Ram! Although I have to say, I have no serious complaints about my current Ram. However, I would love the new transmission, not so much for the extra gears as better reliability...

The extra gears make it all possible. 8 gears is the perfect amount.

Most times, you’re only using 7 out of the 8 gears. 2-8 for normal driving and 1-7 in tow haul.

Yes, 8 gears is the perfect amount. Having the extra 2 gears (as compared to 68RFE) does not cause the RPM to drop significantly between shifts (400-500 RPM drops when shifting between gears cannot be good for the tranny). Tow/haul starting in 1st gear is a stump puller---easily gets any load rolling. When not in Tow/haul starts in 2nd. My truck does go into 8th gear pulling my RV but down shifts to 7th pretty quick when start going uphill. Tranny temp always runs cool--don't think I have seen it over 170-180 degrees. Always keeps the truck in its torque band at whatever speed. Daily interstate driving (no load) is fun--it cruises at 80-90 MPH VERY EASY.
