I've been on here a few weeks reading around and thought I would ask a few questions. I bought a 23 Ram 3500 mega cab SRW Laramie about a month ago. HO + Aisin trans - 40K miles. I bought from a private seller who ordered the truck. It's pretty optioned out for a Laramie. Sticker price was 99K. Before picking up the truck, he had the dealer install 5% tint on the windows, leveled the front and added the AMP power running boards. Granite Crystal. I had a Hellcat the same color. I was able to get him down to $66K, so I felt like I had made a good buy. I haven't done much to it yet. Added the weather tech mud flaps. My mother lives on gravel roads and the Toyo tires were picking up a few rocks. The seller had just put a new set of tires on it so I'll run these until they need replaced, then go to some 35's.

The leveling that the dealer did - It looks like there is a 2.5" spacer on top of the springs. If anything the front looks just slightly higher than the rear. Should I leave it as is or go to the Thuren 2.5" springs? What would be the benefit of the springs over the spacers?

One thing that I have noticed is that the steering feels a little loose. Not like there is slop or play in anything, just not quite as tight as I prefer the steering to be. I see lots of steering stabilizer kits out there for sale. Would a steering stabilizer tighten up the steering a little?

The truck was ordered with the leather bench seat in the front. I'm really digging that as we can flip up the center console and ride 3 in the front and 3 very comfortable in the back with the mega cab.

I have a 28' enclosed trailer that I pull. Not overly heavy. About 9000# with my race car loaded including tools and a quad to get around in the pits. I do have a weigh safe drop hitch that will arrive this week.

Here are a few pics of my truck.

Any input or suggestions will be much appreciated. I do plan to put it on a diet down the road. About the time the warranty runs out. Hopefully they have a way around the security on the ECU by then. Super happy with how it currently runs. 10.5 mpg pulling and 20-22 mpg empty on flat lands.

Springs vs blocks - yes springs rather than the cheapo level method is far superior.

You have a factor Steering stabilizer - don't waste you money of marketing hype. The OEM is just fine. Wouldn't fix your issue anyway - which is probably more attributed to that 2.5 lift in the front without upgrading the track bar and or drag link to adjust for the increased height.

You can delete now with a PCM swap - so save about 6K and you are golden. Don't hold your breath for the security to be breached. Even Banks hasn't cracked it for the Derringer tuner in over 2 years.

Thanks @sstoner911 for the input on the stabilizer.

Would you please provide links to good travel bar and drag link? Still learning. Point me in the direction and I’ll run with it.

You may not need the track bar but if you can do them at once I would change them both.

Thanks Man. I'm deep in adding go fast parts to my race car over the next couple of months. I'll get the springs now, then do the drag link and track bar in the spring.

You may find the springs alone make all the difference.

Where do I find the Thuren alignment specs? Found this on another site. Is this correct to follow for the Alignment?Thuren Ram 3500 Alignment Specs.jpg
