I have a 25 with the 6.7 that has been nothing short of a great truck. However, on occasion I've heard an odd chime when starting the truck but never caught what the message said until yesterday. It's the "service exhaust system" message. It appeared for, at most, 3 seconds then disappears with no residual notification. No lights, nothing in the message center.

I plan on calling the dealer today but am curious if anyone has seen this on their trucks. DEF gauge is at about 1\8th of the gauge and the last regen was about 100 miles ago.

I know it’s been said a thousand times, but check your fuses are seated. I had this same intermittent problem. I was able to catch the intermittent bad reading on one of the EGT sensors with a scan tool and traced it back to a loose fuse. I then discovered, as many have, that not one fuse was properly seated.

I’ve said before, the fuse problem isn’t a fix all, but is definitely a starting point.

I was totally surprised to find nearly all the fuses in the engine bay fuse box were not seated. Just curiously decided to check them..
Thanks!

This escalated to a check engine light and a constant flashing of the message. Took it into the dealership and they confirmed there's a bad sensor.
Unfortunately, the part is on back order. The tech did confirm there were 3 other trucks that recently went through them for service with the same issue. I didn't get the part number for the sensor but will share it when I get it from the work order.

Most if not ALL manufactures have this same issue, it is not just Ram trucks. everyone feels that only Ram has this issue. Most manufactures suppliers use machines [ robots ] to insert fuses which may or may not always ensure full contact. There is also the fact into days world there is not enough human interaction when it comes to manufacturing of anything mechanical anymore. I looked over my Chevy Silverado work truck and only 10% of fuses were actually seated. So yes, this is a common issue with all manufactures.
