2022 Tailgate light washes out backup cam - any suggestions?

The LED light strip in the tailgate handle is pretty much worthless and makes the backup camera unusable at night.
I finally just took the tailgate apart and unplugged the light. What a difference. The backup camera works great at night now.

hah..you guys are getting too dependent on the technology...Think of the days when we didnt have back-up sensors OR cameras..we actually had to throw our right arm onto the seat and god forbid, look over our shoulders to reverse :p
Yeah, when the camera gets wet or dirty...its screwed...

Yeah, that's not an option for me. My back window is blocked with equipment. So it's mirrors and the backup camera.

I remember when you stuck your arm out the window. Left, right, slow/stop. That's when **** was reliable.
