Seriously -- Sirius update is painful just talking to the company - and Android Auto questions

Good Lord, this is so painful. My 5 year traffic and travel link expired. Quick check on the NAV screen and no traffic this last trip. Hit information button and it says I need a new map. First I talk to (I thought) RAM (it was a chrysler website) . Nope it's actually Uconnect who seem to be part of Sirius. They get me to put the radio in dealer mode and can't get a map update until I update the entire system - so two USB sticks with a 'you can brick your system' caution. Then I asked about the real-time traffic which is now missing. Sirius tells me I have to talk to Guardian (also part of Sirius depending upon which rep you talk to). Then, nope, you don't have Guardian and need to talk to SiriusXM for travel link and traffic. Back to the earlier phone number and offshore customer service who insisted I wanted to re-activate my service - NO I only wanted to know how much it cost..... $126 for the two USB sticks to update the 4C and maps. $17/month for traffic and travel link service. Given that nobody seems to know what company they work for, not sure I'm going to go that route and just use android auto - BUT...

I have the 12" screen. When connecting to my android, I get a tiny 3x3 map - that's it. The rest of the screens are adds for radio stations I'm not listening to or music on my phone which I'm not listening to. Is there anyway to integrate the 12" screen with google maps on the phone?

TIA

Nope

Sirius is NO longer supporting NAV and Traffic...You HAVE to use UCONNECT services to subscribe now. I think its called uconnect plus services.

Yep - found that out. Need an update to the radio SW first. Could have had that done last oil change for free if I had known.

My '21 3500 also had a nice weather map that covered the entire 12" screen and it was free. On my new '25 3500 the map did not work, said I needed a subscription. After going through a similar situation as the OP, I finally found out that it is now part of the uconnect+ service, which also includes the Wi-Fi option along with the remote door open/remote engine start etc.

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen a weather map on mine unless I get a pop-up alert and select show area. My truck came with the wifi option (at least on the sticker and in the app window) but it has never worked. Turns out you need a subscription to AT&T wireless to activate it which I don't have (Verizon and TMobile) and AT&T has either no coverage or really bad coverage in the area.. Is your wifi service glued to AT&T also?

The '21 Ram map feature was free, and it worked pretty well. On this new one it is bigger and has nicer colors and resolution. It worked at the dealer and driving it home. Next day it said I needed a subscription and I spent too much time trying to figure out who controlled it lol. The salesguy had no clue either, and eventually Uconnect was the winner. The truck has a 90 day promotion on the remote start/ unlock features, Wi-Fi and emergency services. Finally, someone at Uconnect discovered that , yes, the map feature is now tied to their Uconnect plus service, so to have the map I need all the rest as well. I decided to try it for a year, my wife has it on her Grand Cherokee and likes it. The Wi-Fi is tied through Uconnect, and I have no idea who they use, but it works. Around here, we have most major carriers, we use Verizon.
