New Ram HDs in 2027 or 2028

Things I'd want over my 2025:

-Telescoping steering wheel
-More knee room for the driver (remove that stupid 4x4 button dash stickout)
-Ring & pinion options for Cummins
-A real fuel cap
-Fold down arm rest on my captain's seat
-Butt OR butt & back seat heat like my ~30 year old truck has but now not even Limiteds have
-Rambox on the dually box
-Side steps in the duallybox
-A straight bed that allows me to have a tonneau AND use my stake pockets
-Long bed mega cab
-Rear bumper steps
-Grab handle to get in the bed
-Standardized headlights (no more holding better lights hostage for $$, make 1 option and divide the cost across the board)
-Tow/Haul and Manual Shift buttons relocated to the shift stick
-Give an On/Off button for Manual Shift mode like the Charger has
-Bring back factory rear air to all trims
-Passive entry on all trims
-Factory deployable running boards on all trims
-Smaller radio screens and more manual buttons!

Edit:
-Ability to type in any name for my trailers
-Reliable functioning trailer mileage tracking and tracking for each trailer
-Tow/Haul and Turbo Brake settings being remembered every time I turn truck on

The more things change, the more I want my 2006 LBZ back.

Also, a seat that adjusts lower for ergonomics and headroom. I'm only 6'3" and I wish I didn't have a sunroof because headroom.

My 06 LBZ is what I often refer to. Doubt I'll ever sell it. Has a sunroof and plenty of head room for front and back seats (which these trucks most definitely do not have in the back seat w/ sunroof). The most amazing seats I've found in a pickup to date. Selectable heat zones. Arm rests. If the alleged 2027 isn't actually the new 5th gen, I have a very strong notion to put LBZ seats in my 2025.
But the LBZ lacks the amazing ZF8, brakes, cooling, proper transmission programming for the turbo brake, and adaptive cruise. Now that I've had those features, I can't bear the thought of giving them up.

Cooled/ventilated seats would be hard to give up. As would the integrated brake controller. I was actually hunting for a NOS hayes hydraulic unit to plumb into in my LBZ.

But an Allison can be built to a very high level for under $6k. Once I had that I didn't need to drive around the unit, like a 68. Brakes were good enough for me. Cooling got pinched on the big hills if driven hard. It just needed the fan to kick on sooner. I was toying with putting an L5p oil cooler on it. My truck was tuned and I liked the turbo brake on it better than on this truck.

YES! This still trips me up in my F350 to R3500 transition.
Really sucks when you're flying downhill thru the mountains of Utah at 1am and come around a curve (steering wheel turned hard) to see berries flashing and now all of sudden you can't find the minus (-) button to downshift in a hurry. Ask me how I know...

This year, they unveiled the 2025's at the Detroit auto show in January. Is there anything to suggest we'll get that again this year? Or do you think we'll have to wait till spring/summer for the next unveiling? The show starts Jan 14th, 2026.

Reliability should be the number one priority and main focus.

Who cares if the cabin has been the same for 14+ years. Ram already has the best diesel engine, best interior, and now possibly the best transmission. Let’s get this thing back to 1,000,000 miles.

Agreed.

Yeah, a dependable infotainment system. Fix the aux gauges and get the iphone connections perfected. How can I drive safer if the "safety" features are distracting?

FWIW BD and Bully Dog are not the same company.
Maybe not the same company, but still popped up in the search as the right product. Anyway, I do have the kit on my truck and it works flawlessly. Honestly, I don’t use it a lot, but it is there when I want it, like backing the toy hauler up grade into tight spots at slower speed.

I've already emailed them, they don't have it for a '25+.

But my point was, it should be a factory option. With electronic transfer cases, it would be so freaking easy for Ram/Ford/GM to do.

It’s not done in the transfer case, it’s done with the central axle disconnect.

It’s so much torque to just one driveshaft I’m not sure you’d see a factory option.

There are definitely plenty of uses for 2 Low, which is why I've put it in most of my 4x4 trucks. It's one of those features that people aren't going to understand unless they're guys who actually use their trucks like trucks.
If it's offered from the factory, they could easily implement some torque management thru a detune, etc. Would be more complicated for the aftermarket to do any of that.

2Lo is great, I used it all the time in my 05 and 22. I still have the BD 2low kit out of my 22, I just haven’t had a chance to put it in my 17 yet.

I don't care, just my suggestion as to what I'd like to see. How it's technically implemented is irrelevant.

Then why make comments about it being easy with an electronic transfer case. I was just clarifying how it’s currently achieved.

It would be a cool factory option, but I’d be shocked if it ever happens.

That's AI being (stupid) AI. Sometimes you gotta outsmart it.

Same, I've used it many times backing the 5th wheel uphill and/or into small tight spots on pavement. Saves wear and tear on everything.
