I have had my truck into the dealing a number of time for this problem. It started last December, I put the truck in 4 high, it drives fine until I turn. It sounds like the gears don’t engage, it makes a grinding gear whether I turn to the left or right. When I took it to the dealer they said it was normal. After pressing the issue, they tried replacing the transfer case, and the noise was worse. I took it back 3 weeks ago, and according to their latest information, they are going to replace the axle tire to tire, hoping that this will solve the problem. Any advise?

If it’s still under warranty, letting the dealer throw the parts cannon at it will be the cheapest option, but it will absolutely be frustrating.

I don’t understand why, but dealer service has tanked industry wide in the last decade.

Thanks. The extended warranty is what’s helping now but my concern is, if is possible it could happen again and if they’re going to give me an extended warranty on the new parts. I’m not sure if I should lemon law it or not.
