New here…nice to meet you all. I just picked up a brand new 2025 2500 with the 6.4. I noticed last night that the idle RPMs hover around 1000. I drove around for about an hour then came home and was idling in the driveway for maybe 15-20 min then noticed the RPMs were at 1000. I shut it down and back on and they stayed around 1000.
Is this normal for the 6.4 when it’s cold out? It was about 25 degrees.
Today when driving, stopping at traffic lights and in park after a drive the RPMs were back around 600-700.
Do these things idle up to help oil flow when cold?
