Terrible A/C and Heater performance

Try enabling Recirculation mode, while the AC is on, and then disable recirculation. It's a hack I discovered on my 21 and it does work on my 24. But it seems these systems have a mind of their own. Like the engineers think they know what we should have VS what we really want.

NOTE: I did extensive research and testing on my 21. I discovered that the system is capable of REALLY cold AC outlet temps. But it REGULATES that temp back up to something like 50 Deg. So, yes kicking up the airflow will cause the system to load up and cool more.

In your research, did you find anyone that did anything to increase the fan speed ?

On mine the recirculating is always on. Even if I press the button to turn it off, it stays on. ‍♂️

You might have the know turned all the way to max which would make the recirc stay on all the time.
Temperature or fan speed. I always have both to max otherwise I'd melt inside if it is 90 degrees out.

The temp wheel. If you have it all the way over to max it automatically turns on recirc. On click from max and you can turn recirc off if you so desire.

Just a thought but was having similar issues on my 21 1500 and found a chunk of my battery blanket was blocking the intake under the cowl, thank you chipmunks!

I can say when i tried something like this months ago on my truck it made no difference in AC temps

I just had an issue with a noise from the fan. I also had just had the cabin filter changed during an oil change and it made me think maybe they dropped something in there. I pulled the cabin filter and luckily was able to slide my phone in enough pointing down with the flash on to get a picture. (see attached) This is a flaw in their design, in that anything big that get blown in on top of the filter will get scrapped off when you pull the filter and just fall into the fan. There needs to be a screen in there to catch stuff when you pull the filter. Anyway, its very difficult to reach but the fan is there right close to the bottom of the filter and I got my wife, with her thinner fingers to reach in an pull all that insulation out. This also made we remember that I also has issues this last summer with the AC not working as well at the end of summer as it did in the beginning and wonder if this was my issue. So stick your phone in the Cabin filter slot and see if you have any blockage. Mine is a 2024 Laramie 1500. I need to look under the hood and see where the intake is and see if that can be screened also so this doesn't happen again.

My 21 Classic Warlock does have a screen the filter sits on that keeps the big bits from getting down into the fan. The intake is under the cowl beneath the wipers, and more than likely, you have had visitors in the form of mice or some other critter, and they decided to make their home in your intake.

Interesting that they have chosen to not use a screen anymore. I think I will be taking a photo everytime I change the cabin filter.

I haven't look to see in my 26 3500 yet, really all they need to do is put a screen on the intake so the critters can't just waltz in and make a home, can't believe a single manufacturer can't figure this out!

On my 21, although the light on the temp selector shows recirculate, you have to go into info screen and turn on “max” to get full recirculate.
