Hey guys, I am at my wits end. I am working on my 2021 ram 2500. I am removing the rear park sensor wiring that I purchased from Jimmy 07 here on the forums, so that I can put them into my 2024 ram 2500. For some reason, Jimmy stopped answering my DMs. He’s probably just really busy. I know he’s on all the Stellantis forums.

FYI, I am trying to depin the harness that Jimmy sold me, so it is not the factory wiring. I have the XY402 connector unplugged. I also used a small screwdriver to release the white pin retainer secondary latch, and then I used a small Amazon depinning tool in the tiny hole, but the pin will not release. I have tried making a tool out of a paper clip. I’ve tried bending and it wiggling it, while gently pulling on the wire from the back side. Nothing seems to allow the pin to come out.

Am I missing something? Is there another latch inside the XY402 connector that I need to deactivate/disable?

This is the only thing that is preventing me from putting this truck back together so I can sell it. Here are some pictures of what I am talking about any help is appreciated. I’ve searched for hours on YouTube. There are no videos that I can find, I’ve searched the Internet, I’ve used Google AI and chatgpt, no luck. Please help!

I don’t want to cut the wires because I will have to order new pins and again since I haven’t had a response from Jimmy I don’t want to start an entirely new search looking for pins. Thanks for reading this post.

Well here is the solution! There is a secondary hold down, it’s the white plastic plate that is facing you once you undo the XY402 connector! I used a HF Pick tool and gently pried it from side to side until it was removed! Once it was out of the way you can clearly see the tiny clips in the connector that holds the pins in. Then simply use a jeweler’s screw driver to move the clip away from the pin and pull the pin from the back! You can also use a depinning tool or a filed down paperclip.

See pictures!

You may also need to seizure if you are upgrading any of the I need to remove it!

I know that some people have had luck pushing a depinning tool through the tiny hole in the white plate, but I’m telling you I’ve tried for hours and it was useless once I removed that white plate. It was a piece of cake. I had all six wires out in less than two minutes.
